Who is Chille DeCastro?

A synopsis compiled from publicly available information

Updated: 11 October 2026

Background

Jose Maria 'Chille' DeCastro is a self-proclaimed journalist, a self-proclaimed 1st Amendment auditor, and a self-proclaimed "constitutional law scholar" who has filed numerous unsuccessful Federal Civil Rights lawsuits and appeals against the judicial system. He runs controversialanti-policesocial media channels under the nameDeleteLawZ. He sells products advising drivers of their constitutional rights during traffic stops though he appears to have no formal legal training. He may be heavily influenced by the "sovereign citizen" (mis)understanding of case law.

Poor Legal Success Rate

DeCastro rose to prominence on social media for his outspoken anti-police rhetoric, controversial views, and travels to "assist" others by dispensing questionable legal advice, drawing criticism from fellow influencers. His typical response was to threaten or file lawsuits against his critics. More recently, following arrests, citations, or criminal charges, he has filed civil rights lawsuits against police officers, prosecutors, judges, and various government agencies.

His record in the majority of court cases has been relatively poor, as shown on ourScorecard Page, where we attempt to estimate a success / failure ratio based on the public records available to us.

His interaction with law enforcement over the years has resulted with his arrest or charges in numerous states, his being"red-flagged for violent tendencies"in police databases, and a growinghistory of warrantsincluding a recently recalled warrant out ofOklahomaand an active warrant out ofOhio.

Suspended or Revoked Corporations

DeCastro often claims that donations and contributions made to him via his Cash App, PayPal, Venmo, and other services go through his "Ethics SCS" company. We have been unable to find any businesses listed that are currently active with that name. His"Ethics SCS INC"out of California was suspended in 2019, and"Ethics SCS LLC"out of Nevada was revoked, possibly in early 2025. While he appears to have formed other corporations over the years, the only active corporations we can find that may be his are "You've Got Bail" variations, both formed in Delaware in early 2026.

A Promised Board Game

After spending more than100 days incarceratedin Clark County, Nevada, in 2024, DeCastro turned his attention to creating a board game to teach his interpretation of the U.S. Constitution. Following extensive promotion, he concluded that manufacturing a full board game was too expensive and instead began selling potentially hundreds of double-sided Board Game cards in PDF files that buyers had to print using their own paper, ink, and printers.

In a live stream on October 10th, 2026, DeCastro stated that he refunded all 400 pre-game sales. He stated that the board game now has over 1,000 cards and will cost $2500, up from the original $60, because you can get one board game and can use it for a classroom and teach multiple different schools.

As with most of DeCastro's early product announcements, a release date was not provided. He only stated that he has hired someone to help him with the game.

You've Got Bail - A Social Media App? Website? Bail App?

In early 2026, he introduced"YouveGotBail.AI,"a subscription-based app / website / social media platform with memberships levels possibly offering bail, or connections to a bondsman, or maybe just help in crowd funding for bail, if a subscriber were to be arrested. Many questioned if the target market would be large enough, but it appears DeCastro raised thousands from supporters and investors. Then the release date slipped to late June, then early July, and then to "possibly" October. A short time later DeCastro pivoted again and hinted at an earlier release, but left viewers wondering if it would still have a bail component.

He also talked about re-branding his new You've Got Bail 'plaque' product (a larger, more expensive replacement for his discontinued DeleteLawz 'trifold') back to DeleteLawZ. But instead he re-started production of the DeleteLawz trifold. Speculation is that sales of the plaque were not as strong as they were for the trifold and was having a negative impact on his revenue stream.

In a live stream on October 10, 2026, DeCastro announced the app was now going to require an investment of $3 Million Dollars (US), He states that he does have somebody in mind who has the 3 million, but he's not really sure what he's going to do. He did not provide any information regarding a release date.

Currently

DeCastro has now turned his YouTube channel into a platform where he primarily shares anti-police videos and commentary. His live streams can sometimes last more than 10 hours and amount to little more than infomercials promoting his products of questionable value, interspersed with solicitations for donations.

New live "audits" of police have all but disappeared from his YouTube channel. Those videos may have been a very strong component of his previous popularity as his YouTube viewership appears to be in decline, and his YouTube channels have been demonetized by YouTube for violating their policies and guidelines.
